BLUE MADONNA
An allegory of the female body and its symbolic, matricial, cultural, social and spiritual place in contemporary society.
THE PROJECT
Desire, confinement, devotion and suffocation.
BLUE MADONNA questions the power of feminine desire and orgasm when they are detached from procreation, and the way this autonomy can be perceived as a threat to patriarchal social, philosophical and spiritual structures.
The Madonna is imprisoned and wrapped in semi-translucent plastic: alive or dead, protected or suffocated, desirable or already prepared for consumption.
The plastic also symbolizes environmental waste suffocating nature in its prime. The female body and the living world are brought into the same fragile condition.

The image leaves the frame and enters a ritual space.
The photographic series extends into scenography and performance.
